NID Entrance Preparation and Best time to start Coaching:
The National Institute of Design (NID) has an aptitude test used as an entrance exam known by the same acronym as the school. This test decides who enters the courses of Bachelor of Design, Master of Design and the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design. There are many colleges that base their admissions on the NID entrance exam scores, mostly other NID branches that are spread out through India. Unlike the NATA or the AAT that are more general aptitude tests, used by many colleges and universities. The NID exam score is only taken into account when applying into any of the National Institutes of Design.

NID Exam Pattern
The National Institute of Design entrance exam selects its candidates through two stages that last three hours overall and round up 100 marks:
- NID DAT (prelims): The first stage, objective, is comprised of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), meaning there could be one or more correct answers, that sum up 70 points in total.
- NID DAT (mains): The second stage, subjective, is comprised of a Studio Test and an interview, 30 marks overall. The studio test consists of questions that require the candidates to use different techniques like drawing/sketching and group discussions, among others. Immediately after the studio test, the candidates are separated according to their specialization for the interview.
NID Syllabus
This area and the aforementioned are very important for those seeking NID entrance preparation. Because the total disclosure of both the exam pattern and the syllabus is great help for students. The first stage of the NID DAT will require candidates to know design theory, elements, and principles of design, the principles of composition, understanding of light and shade, drawing fundamentals, creative thinking and writing, among others. The second stage of the NID DAT requires model making, doodling, material manipulation, and, once more, creative thinking abilities. The complete list of areas that should be developed and comprehended for both the first stage and the second stage can be found in the internet.
